Sharon McNichols L.Ac. Licensed Acupuncturist Masters of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine
I am honored to be a part of each person’s healing process. I bring to my practice a gentle, caring approach with good listening skills and an empathetic heart. I have a strong desire to work together with my patients to cultivate healthy, balanced lives.
Growing up, I always had the desire to live naturally. I have made it my life goal to eat well, get plenty of exercise and be environmentally conscious. On my path of life I have always been drawn to helping people, whether it be children or adults.
This led me to study psychology at St. Mary’s College, Winona, Minnesota, and early childhood education at Utah State University. After completing these degrees, I taught kindergarten and first grade for nine years in Utah.
I became interested in acupuncture through my struggle with asthma. I sought acupuncture for relief. The healing power of acupuncture and Chinese herbs had a profound effect on my life. With acupuncture, I was able to be free of the symptoms of asthma. I became very enthralled with acupuncture and read everything I could get my hands on.
I decided to study acupuncture in Portland, OR, at the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine. I completed my studies in 1993 and became licensed through the Oregon Board of Medical Examiners and certified through the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. (NCCAOM). Since graduating I have been practicing in Beaverton, OR. For nine years I supervised third year acupuncture students while they were treating patients at the school clinic, located at the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine.
Through my personal experiences and those of my patients, I have seen that acupuncture can be transformative and the results long lasting. Acupuncture works on the physical, emotional and spiritual levels of the body. Acupuncture can help shift deep-rooted patterns and bring health into balance.
